Isti'adhah is the act of seeking Allah's protection from Shaytan, said before beginning Quran recitation.

What does Isti’adah mean?

The phrase "A'udhu billahi min ash-shaytanir-rajeem" (I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan) is recited before starting a recitation session, guarding the reciter's focus and intention from the outset.
