Tajweed Rule

Idgham

إِدْغَام‎ · /ɪdˈɣɑːm/

Idgham is a Tajweed rule where one letter merges into the next, so the two are pronounced as a single sound.

What does Idgham mean?

When a noon sakinah or tanween is followed by one of six specific letters, the sound blends into the next letter rather than being pronounced separately, either with or without ghunna depending on the letter.
