Rasm is the basic consonantal skeleton of Arabic script, written without the vowel marks and dots added later in Quranic history.

What does Rasm mean?

The Uthmani rasm, the specific letter-spelling standardized under Caliph Uthman, is preserved unchanged in every printed Mushaf today, with harakat added on top purely as a pronunciation guide.
