Bismillah, "in the name of Allah," is the phrase Muslims say before starting a task, meal, or recitation.

What does Bismillah mean?

Short for the fuller invocation "In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful," Bismillah opens every Surah of the Quran but one, and is said before daily actions to seek Allah's blessing in them.
